A jet suction dredger is an engineering vessel or equipment that uses the negative pressure (vacuum) generated by high-speed water flow to extract underwater sediment. This hydraulic dredging method is particularly suitable for dredging and sand extraction in shallow water, on a small scale, or in specific scenarios.

Core Working Principle: "Jeting" + "Suction"
Jeting: Loosening mud and sand with high-pressure water jets
- The vessel is equipped with a high-powered high-pressure water pump
- The pump draws clean water from the operating area, pressurizes it, and delivers it underwater through a high-pressure water pipe
- A specially designed nozzle directs the high-pressure water onto the target sand layer
- Function: The high-pressure water jet has a powerful impact force that can disperse loose sand particles and cut/liquefy compacted mud and sand layers
- Creates a sand-water mixture (slurry) with reduced viscosity for easier pumping
Suction: Suctioning the slurry with a centrifugal pump
- A sand suction head is located near the high-pressure nozzle
- The vessel is equipped with a centrifugal sand pump (or slurry pump)
- The sand pump generates powerful vacuum suction to draw in the sand-water mixture
- The slurry is transported via pipelines to its destination (transport vessel, storage yard, or floating tank)
Workflow
- Position the vessel at the target area
- Start the water pump to establish a high-pressure water flow
- Lower the jet pipe and sand suction pipe, placing the suction head on the sand surface
- High-pressure water is ejected at high speed through the nozzle, creating negative pressure
- The sediment-water mixture is drawn into the sand suction pipe due to the pressure differential
- The mixed slurry is pumped through the sand discharge pipe to the designated location
- Sand extraction is completed step by step by moving the vessel or adjusting the suction head position
