jet suction dredger (also known as jet sand dredger or jet sand dredger) is an engineering vessel that uses high-pressure water jet and negative pressure suction principle to collect underwater sediment.

Its core working principle is as follows:

High-pressure jet: high-speed water flow is generated by high-pressure water pump to impact riverbed or seabed sediment,loosening and suspending it.

Negative pressure suction: using the suction force generated by centrifugal pump or mud pump, the suspended sediment is mixed with water and sucked into the pipeline, and then transported to the designated location (such as transport ship,yard or reclamation area).
