Working Principle

The cutter suction dredger primarily accomplishes dredging tasks through the coordinated operation of a cutter device and a dredge pump. The ladder frame at the bow extends below the water surface, where the rotating cutter head—powered by a drive system—cuts and agitates underwater sediments, loosening compacted soil, sand, or even rock layers. Simultaneously, the onboard dredge pump generates strong suction pressure, drawing the loosened slurry through the suction pipe and transporting it via discharge pipelines over distances ranging from hundreds to thousands of meters to designated areas, such as s poil grounds or reclamation sites. This integrated process—excavation, transportation, and discharge—is completed seamlessly without requiring additional vessels for intermediate transfers, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
