Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) is one of the most widely used ships in dredging projects, mainly used for large underwater earthwork operations such as channel dredging, port expansion, land reclamation, river silt removal, etc. Its core feature is continuous and efficient operation, breaking up the underwater soil layer through a rotating auger, and transporting the mud to the designated area over a long distance with a powerful mud pump.

Core working principle
"Turning" - cutting and stirring

A giant rotating auger head covered with high-strength alloy teeth is installed at the front of the hull. The auger rotates at high speed (the speed can be adjusted for silt, sand, and rock formations), powerfully cutting and crushing the bottom sediments, so that they are mixed with water into high-concentration mud.

"Suction" - vacuum suction

The suction port is connected to the center or rear of the auger, which is directly connected to a high-power centrifugal mud pump.

The mud pump generates negative pressure and instantly sucks the chopped mud into the pipeline.

"Discharge" - long-distance transportation

The mud is pressurized and transported through a sealed mud discharge pipeline, and the distance can reach tens of kilometers.

Relying on the on-board mud pump + onshore relay pump station for pressurization, it is finally discharged to the reclamation area (such as land reclamation block) or deep-sea mud dumping area.
